COVID Cats the documentary a film by Louise Chen

This jovial documentary showcases how people have related to their animals in this case its Cats. Being in an extraordinary time of the COVID pandemic, world wide people have turned to animals to help them get through their different situations. Possibly establishing more connection to their own pets or animals in nature. Some of the participants/ talent; in the film are connected by different groups and organisations, the participants do not necessarily know each other but the one common thread is their love of animals and in particular Cats, either through being creative with their love of painting or drawing Cats or simply just connecting with others by, just visiting with the neighbours cats. Feeling part of a community in a time, where we are all so disconnected and possibly even lonely. Animals have helped us so much and, in this film, so have Cats. So we arrive at Covid Cats. There has been much research conducted during COVID showing that animals reduce stress, anxiety & in some cases increase our fitness. Out of the human need to connect and feel love and give love is where the story shines. This is a film that shows a group of individuals and their own unique special relationships with Cats. This film was made with love for The Rotary Club Caulfield. Thank you to Glen Eria City Council Glen Eira Artist Society Made by. Louise Chen Photography in 2021.

I hope you enjoy this film as much as enjoyed making it.

This was an inspirational piece to unlock creativity in powerlessness. In this Covid Times.

In our heads it seems are all our hopes and dreams. Our destiny with stern view and harsh realities with lighting strikes and at man’s delight we crumble to our knees!

That’s right I asked you to listen withs ears open wide to my trunk my bunk and your house build so wide but you ducked and hid.

I know, did you just hear the raindrops on the roof, or the old bell ringing in your brittle head.

Wake up dear human, wake up!! Understand why you got the ringing, pounding in your head!

Is this going to be like a poem you put on a post? Or just old notebook waiting to encode.

Wake up! Get up and live your life. It’s where your heart is warm. Where sun glows and love seem’s so long. In love dance and sing to this song. On my way I fly like a bee and again. My mother calls!! .

A poem- By Louise Chen

Great Barrier Reef & Whitsunday Islands - YouTube Short Louise Chen Photography

Recently, I went on a trip to the Whitsunday Islands.

This is such a beautiful part of Australia. In between two lockdowns mind you but I was lucky enough to make it. I wanted to share a short film I made on the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach.

A wondrous place, the underwater world of our amazing Great Barrier Reef. Even more reason this 2000 km area of reef the lungs of our sea, should be protected and not exploited by corporate greed. I find it so peaceful underwater, a dream state for me coming home. I hope you enjoy my short film and it brings you some peace and happiness. I hold these experiences in my heart forever more.
